(producing after selling)
|
The number of ready-made suits sold retail is previously estimated and
they are mass-produced in factories. .
Factories produce suits and then sell them.
On the other hand, tailor-made suits are originally measured and sewn according
to customers' specifications after tailors receive orders
They sell suits first and then make them.
In GOODHILL, we have carried out the Sellduce System, "producing after selling system," due to manufacturing technology of network system for unit
control. |

All the designs, from the pattern making system to the grading system,
are based on our original CAD system in the design department.
To reinforce the cooperation with our dealers, we exchange data with CAD
systems between markets
We always introduce the traditional British design, Italian mode, and various
trendy styles, so that we can always provide the newest designs.
As for information management; our network system supports the exchange
of data of manufacturing process information , designs, and so on just
in time.

<Order reception ⇒ Pattern making>
Order system of GOODHILL begins from measurement of each customer's size.
A basic formula of body type is adjusted to each customer's size, and
the data is input into a computer.
After deciding the style of suit, the material is chosen from sample lists.
From the order reception data, a sheet of specifications is made, the customer's
size, specified design and the quality of fabric.
The grading software that creates the patterns was based on simulations
of 10 million body types. Thus, without test fitting, well-fitted suits
can be made.
The processing directions and the digitized patterns are stored in the
database and managed by bar codes.

<Cutting>
The fabric chosen by each customer is cut suit by suit. The digitized pattern
is called up from the database using a bar code and the fabric is cut by
an automatic cutting machine. Because of the use of a network system which
processes suits respectively, there has been a huge decrease in cutting
mistakes. That results in a higher level of production efficiency.
After the pants material cutting is completed, they are sent to the subsidiary
factory. There, lining and canvas of jackets are cut. All the components
have been digitized into individual patterns.
High accuracy and swiftness is the most important element of the installation
of automatic cutting machines. A series of cutting processes from the outside
fabric from inside parts is managed through 24 automatic cutting machines.
In cutting 1 set of suit, it takes 2 minutes and 30 seconds for outside
fabric by the blade-type machine, and the highest speed in the world of
30 seconds for lining by the razor-type machine.
To respond to the requirements of quick delivery in the markets, we cut
1500 sets of materials a day keeping the accuracy and then supply them
to the process of parts manufacturing.

<Sewing, ⇒ Assembly>
The material which is clamped to the conveying hanger is sewn at the sewing
station according to the processing directions. Each jacket undergoes 250
operations, and at each station, the material is automatically conveyed
to the next station.
The key points of the process are networked to the database. The pictures
of position gauge, brand marks, etc. are shown on the display. The progressing
of operations is also monitored automatically.
A comfortable fit of tailored men's suits depends on the work of assembly.
For example, in the work of fixing shoulders, sewing sleeves, we finish
them with rich experience and mature skills, and with workmanship passed
down from our seniors.

<Finishing, ⇒ Check>
On the final finishing line, the suits are elaborately pressed using automated
machines to ensure optimum conditions for each type of material.
In consideration of body type, size, and the design of each customer, we
finish up a beautiful suit by hand-ironing. The completed suit has a perfect
silhouette with a three dimensional effect.
No matter how automated or labor-saving, the basis of suit-making is a
hands-on process.
The measurements, design, etc., are checked up in the final inspection
department based on the data displayed on each individual suit. After passing
inspection, each suit is subjected again to a detailed inspection by skilled
inspectors. As a result of this system of double checking, the number of
defective quality suits has been drastically reduced.
Jackets and pants which have passed the final inspection are sorted by
each destination and then assembled into complete suits. The sorting machine
has the capacity which can sort at speed more than 1000 pieces per hour
to over 100 delivery destinations.
